Expressive and Receptive language delays ("late talkers")
They heavily rely on gestures or non-verbal language to communicate their wants and needs. They have not begun to combine words (2 words at 2 years, 3 words at 3 years). They have difficulty following instructions, identifying named items, or participating in social routines.

Expressive and Receptive Language Disorder
They may have difficulty using complete sentences or difficulty using correct word order. Their stories are difficult to follow, lack details, or have grammatical errors.

Speech Sound Disorders
There are several sounds that your child has difficulty pronouncing. You/your family or friends have difficulty understanding your child on a regular basis. You notice that his/her peers are easier to understand.

Fluency/Stuttering
Your child may sound like he or she is repeating sounds or words (i.e., "b-b-b-bird"), getting stuck on certain sounds, or even lengthening sounds (i.e., caaaaat).

Evaluation
If your child has not had a recent evaluation, your first appointment will include a comprehensive assessment of your child’s communication skills in order to determine the need/not of speech therapy.

Begin Speech Therapy!
Your child will participate in 1:1 therapy sessions with our speech-pathologist targeting their goals through engaging and functional activities.
